Page 1 of 7 This is my long winded babble about why I don't think skateboarders or skateboarding benefits by supporting Chinese Manufactured Skateboards over those made by Skateboarders here in the US. If You've got a few minutes to read, Enjoy, unless of course you are late to get to Walmart to buy a new board!
Is Making Skateboards In China for the Pro Skateboard Deck Market Really Necessary or Beneficial to Skateboarders and Skateboarding? Hello Nervous Industry Executives, and Interested Skaters! So, you want to know who's making their boards in China? Sorry!!!! We'd love to tell you, but we might get sued by a bunch of guys who don't want us to do that, and are willing to do just about anything to shut us up. We've been through that before. Of course, they are the same ones who are selling you skateboards made in China, most of which have been sold without the required "Made In China" label, and they really don't want you to know they are doing that, so they might try anything to stop us from telling you. In general, they are pretty pissed that some of us are working towards forcing them to put labels on their China decks. Once they are labeled, they will have to lower their price to try and kill the American Skateboard Manufacturers, and that defeats their whole purpose of trying to get away with pocketing some extra cash without you noticing. A few guys have tried pulling that off for the last couple years, but they aren't going to get away with it much longer. So, while we can't tell you everyone who is making boards in China, we can promise you that we aren't, and never will. There are many places on the web with more information if you start looking, but if you want to see a china factory in action, check out this place first, then take our tour and make up your own mind. I found this link somewhere on the web-- (this factory has nothing to do with us in any way, and I have no idea which major brand name skateboards they may or may not make, but you can tour our factory, and then tour theirs and think about who you want your boards to come from). (I removed the link I had here as requested by manufacturer in China. I don't believe I legally need to do so, but I will check with my lawyer to be safe, but I am sure you can find China Skate Factories all by yourself without a link, or just type "China Skateboard Factory" in google and see what comes up. You should get educated about the difference. The guy who owns the company who asked me to remove the link has also posted stuff on the web calling us US Skate guys complaining about Chinese Skateboards bigots and rascists. This whole issue is about skaters supporting skaters first, instead of mass merchandisers, and the consumer having the right to know what is going on) Race has nothing to do with it!!! If I buy a German car, I know it came from Germany, and don't find out later it came from Africa. That's what we want here. Let the consumers know the truth, and they can make up their own mind.
